One Thing We Will NEVER Do

I know we have a lot of books, (guys... you think several thousand is a lot? You need to check out the room with back stock), but there are times where one of us might want a book for our personal libraries. Will we come upon it eventually? Yeah, probably. But let's face it: sometimes a title enters your brain and you think, "Oh! I should get that!"

Enter Heinlein. More specifically, Time Enough For Love. A rather eccentric book but something I remember enjoying. Being me, I went in search of a decent hardcover and stumble upon this listing. There is a bit of boiler plate in the item description that concerned me. Namely, "The image is for illustrative purposes only actual cover, binding and edition may vary."

So.... I ask. Is this a hardcover? Same edition? A little help here please! And I get, "The image is for illustrative purposes only actual cover, binding and edition may vary."

Let's stop right there because this is what this competitor (albeit a competitor with literally millions of items) is telling me: Yeah, this is the title and the author. However, the picture may or may not match, it might be a hardcover or paperback, it might have been published in 1972 or it might have been printed yesterday. We don't know. And we have a lot of stuff and don't care to be organized enough or hire enough personnel to actually look." On top of this, their title is, I kid you not, "Customer Support Hero." 

I decide to launch my follow up, questioning their ability to... you know... actually provide customer support. And what do I get? "... we are unable to provide additional details about individual items, but we state on eBay that, the image is for illustrative purposes only..." blah blah blah. 

Yeah, it's pretty darn frustrating and I have had similar responses from similarly sized book sellers. This nonsense helps drive me. No stock photos here, just high quality pics (thanks CamScanner). We actually answer questions here. We actually take additional pictures here. And as we grow, we will continue to do so. We're book lovers, and we know you are too.
